Waimijing win

Nagaon, Sept. 6. Waimijing B defeated Mineret Club by 3-1 goals through a tiebreaker in a pre-quarter final match of Nindu Langthasa inter-club football tournament organised by the Dima Hasao Sports Association at NL Daologupu Sports Complex in Haflong today.
The match was a goalless draw till the end of the scheduled time.
Waimijing striker Sunny Jidung missed two great opportunities at the 31st and 88th minutes of the match.
In the tiebreaker, three Mineret players — Lanvung Thangew, Stephen and Living T. — scored from their spot kicks. Richard Dungdung and Emmanual Beite, however, missed their shots.
Sunny Jidung scored the only goal for Waimijing. Amir Kemprai, Manuj Langthasa and Amal Kemprai missed their shots.
More than 1,000 soccer lovers gathered today to enjoy the pre-quarterfinal match.
Altogether 18 teams are participating in the tournament. The final will be played on September 15.
Tularam Youth Club will meet Shaijurang Club in the next pre-quarterfinal tomorrow.
